FAQs

Our show flat will only be open for visits on dedicated open days. Sign up to our open day registration list to be notified when you can book in to visit us.

We know that not everyone’s requirements are the same which is why we offer a variety of contract lengths.

Our contract lengths vary depending on which Nido residence you’re staying in.

When making your online booking, please make sure that you check both the contract length and the cancellation policy before you hit the confirmation button.

At Nido Randwyck we have long stays, an open-ended contract for the duration of your studies, and short stays, a fixed contract duration of 6 months.

Once you’ve chosen your Nido room, you’ll need to secure it with us by paying a refundable deposit of €500.

If you book a short stay room, you will be required to pay a booking fee of €150 in addition to your deposit.

To secure your room with us, you’ll need to sign your lease contract and pay your deposit.

Rental instalments are due monthly, with payments due on the 1st of each month.

Yes, you’re asked to pay a deposit before you move in. The deposit will be released at the end of your contract with us. The deposit amount is €500.

The refundable deposit amount is based on your room condition report upon checking-out of your Nido residence and is refunded within 60 days of departing.

Rental instalments are due monthly. You can make payments via the Nido Portal using a credit or debit card.

When booking a room at Nido Randwyck, you will be required to pay a deposit of €500.

The first instalment is due prior to check-in and will be equal to one month’s rent plus €90 final cleaning charge, starting on 6th January. Your rent will then be due monthly.

Should you encounter any problems with payment or would like to check your payments, please contact the residence team.

Please make sure to include the resident’s name and StarRez ID as a payment reference, e.g. Smith/12345.

Residents on a long stay lease will be charged a service charge and a supply charge in addition to their rent.

If you are staying with us on a short stay lease (max duration 6 months) your rent is inclusive of all service and supply charges.

We’ve tried to make booking an easy process for you. Here are the steps you can take once you’re ready to book:

  1. Find your perfect room on our website
  2. Click ‘book now’, you’ll be redirected to the Nido Portal where you can finalise your booking
  3. Or speak directly to the team to book

We offer studio apartments at Nido Randwyck. All our studios are fully furnished and come with an ensuite bathroom and private kitchenette, all to yourself.

Our communal spaces are residence specific, so please check the relevant residence page on our website to see what it includes.

In the majority of our Nido residences, you will have access to a range of comfortable social and study spaces.

Yes, we do – please check with the residence about whether your studio room is eligible for dual occupancy.

We have accessible rooms available at all our residences and we want to make sure that everyone is able to have a safe and comfortable stay with us.  Please let us know about any medical information or disabilities on your application or contact us directly to find out more.

We offer short term stays (maximum 6 months), however, availability depends on the residence and the time of year.

Yes, the agreement for your studio apartment, which you are required to accept in order to complete your booking and secure your room, is a legally binding contract.

Short stay contracts are valid for the full fixed term duration of six months and cannot be cancelled.

Long Stay contracts are cancellable after the 12-month initial period by giving one month’s notice.

Nido is open to students from any university or country. The requirements to stay at Nido are as follows, you will need to evidence at least one of the following:

  • a student who is taking a full-time course
  • a student on an organised study-abroad programme
  • a student conducting a work placement course as part of a degree-granting programme

These aren’t included in your room as they tend to be personal items.

Yes, we have WiFi throughout each Nido so you can be connected at all times. More information on how to connect will be provided to you upon arrival.

We do allow day and night guests, however, for your own safety and security, there are a few guest policies in place:

  • You can have unlimited guests visiting during the day between 8am and midnight
  • For overnight stays, one guest can stay for a maximum of three consecutive nights throughout the month
  • All guests must be 18 years of age or over
  • You will have to sign in your guests, and they must bring a photo ID to gain entry into the building
  • You will be responsible for your guest throughout their time at Nido

You’re responsible for keeping your room tidy throughout your stay. You can borrow a vacuum cleaner from the TULU.

We work hard to make sure that pretty much everything is included in your stay. Just so it’s clear, the below items are not included in your rent:

  1. We have vending machines in some of our Nidos. All snacks and drinks within the vending machines will be at your own cost.
  2. You can pay for your laundry on a pay-as-you-go basis
  3.  You can book room cleans at reception for a set fee.

 

TVs are not provided in our studio rooms, however, you are welcome to bring your own. You’ll be able to connect the TV to a centralised cable system.

All our residences also have at least one TV in the common areas.

We have laundry rooms in all of our Nido residences. You’ll have 24-hour access to washers, dryers and ironing boards.

To make use of the laundry service, you can download the application ‘’appWash’’ or you can access the website via www.appwash.com. Via this app or website you can use and pay for the laundry services.

Access to the building, common spaces, and your room will be via mobile key – snazzy! You will receive instructions around check-in on how to download the Nido App and access your key.

Yes, your on-site gym can be accessed free of charge 24/7, so you are welcome to work out whenever you feel like it.

Upon check-in, we do require that you complete a gym induction to ensure you’re comfortable using all of the equipment.

No, you are not permitted to sublet any part of your studio, as per your accepted tenancy license agreement.

Our maintenance teams are available five days a week to help with any issues or questions. They’re also available for any emergencies during the weekends.

If you do experience any maintenance issues during your stay, simply log it on your maintenance portal (full information can be found in your Welcome Book). The team will update you on the progress of the job and book a time with you for accessing your room.

We encourage everyone to bring their bikes to university as it makes for a much more environmentally friendly way to get around town. In fact, all of our Nido residences have bike storage available.

All our studio rooms include:

  • Double bed
  • Wardrobe with hanging space, shelving & safe
  • Ensuite bathroom with shower, sink & toilet
  • Kitchenette with storage, induction hob, microwave-oven, fridge & garbage bin
  • Breakfast bar
  • Desk, desk chair and table lamp
  • Shelves and pinboard

Electric scooters should not be kept or charged anywhere in the building under any circumstances. This includes your apartment, common spaces and the bike store.

Before your arrival you’ll need to upload a form of photo identification (passport, drivers license etc) and a proof of enrolment in your university. 

You’ll also need to bring your passport to your check-in at your residence.

If you’d like to move apartments, we’ll always try to accommodate it. Please do note that we can only offer room changes if there are rooms available to move into within your Nido residence and there is an understandable reason for wanting the change.

Keep in mind that different rooms can be offered at varying prices. The rates are based on a number of things, like the size of the room, location in the building and its availability so it may be that you will have to pay a different rate to occupy another room.
