Nido timeline

2007

Nido Student Living is established

2011

Launch of 3 residences in London's prime locations: King's Cross, Notting Hill and Spitalfields.

2015

Nido acquires an asset in West Hampstead and successfully exits King's Cross, Notting Hill and Spitalfields.

2016

Nido acquires a portfolio of UK beds with Starwood Capital and sign a management agreement for the mobilisation and operation of an asset in Birmingham

2017

Nido hires an industry-leading management team, who build the brand and set design, development and operational excellence standards to attract new investors and enable portfolio expansion.

2018

Nido rebrands and partners with KKR and NBK and begins to gain industry recognition for operational performance and its focus on resident experience via its four core values.

2019

Nido enters the German market with TPG via a co-live portfolio, rebranding and onboarding distressed assets.

2020

Nido opens it's first scheme in Ireland, two in the Netherlands, and four further residences in the UK, whilst managing the challenging Covid-19 situation for both residents and investors.

2021

3 further assets are acquired in Germany and successful asset dispositions in the Netherlands and the UK.

2022

Nido launches and mobilises assets in Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Denmark through partnerships with CPP, NBK and Nuveen. Successful disposition of Germany co-live portfolio with TPG.

2023

Nido mobilise and launch an asset in Spain, and rebrand and operate the co-live Smart Studios Portugal portfolio. Successful UK portfolio disposition for Starwood. Awarded GSLI's Best Private Housing Provider Europe and Property Week's International Operator of the Year.

2024

Nido launch in the Netherlands and mobilises new assets in Spain. CPP Investments acquire Nido and the RHESA JV, creating a vertically integrated student accommodation platform with a strategic focus on growth across Europe. Shortlisted for 9 GSLI awards, 6 Property Week Student Accommodation awards, and 4 Class Foundation awards.

Our growth strategy

With over 7,000 beds in development and under management, we care for residents from over 120 different countries. In 2024, Nido Living was acquired by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments™), cementing a future of significant further growth.

Nido Plaza Castilla

Nido Plaza Castilla is your student home in the heart of Madrid, steps from Chamartín, IE University, and Paseo de la Castellana. With all bills included, 24/7 security, fast WiFi, cleaning, and year-round events, it’s the perfect mix of comfort, community, and convenience.

Nido Príncipe Pío

Nido's second project in Madrid and fourth in Spain, this flex-living scheme offers a wide range of services and facilities, including 24-hour security, maintenance, cleaning, laundry, fast WiFi, a fully equipped gym, restaurant, private dining room, and study and coworking spaces. The centre is designed to promote wellness through biophilic design and sustainability standards.

Nido Ardee Point

Nido Asprela, in Porto’s student hub, offers private studios with all-inclusive rent and shared spaces to live, study and connect. More than housing, it’s a community built around your wellbeing.
