Nido Living appoints Rafael Fernández-Ladreda to newly created Chief Integration Officer role

  • Rafael Fernández-Ladreda will lead the successful integration of Nido Living and recently acquired Livensa Living
  • In the newly created role, Fernández-Ladreda will support Nido’s business strategy, ensuring people, systems and processes are successfully integrated and optimised for driving future success of the platform.

Nido Living, the award-winning European student accommodation platform backed by CPP Investments, has appointed Rafael Fernández-Ladreda to the new role of Chief Integration Officer. The role forms a key part of the business’ strategic goal of owning and operating 25,000 beds across continental Europe by 2031.

Acquired in September 2025, Livensa Living is one of the largest student accommodation platforms in Iberia, with over 9,000 beds across Spain and Portugal. Its portfolio of high-quality, design-led residences complements Nido’s existing footprint, creating a combined platform of more than 13,000 beds across continental Europe. The integration will further strengthen Nido’s position as a leading operator in the European student housing sector, offering residents a consistent, best-in-class experience across multiple markets.

Fernández-Ladreda brings a wealth of experience in industrial leadership and business strategy, leading transformations, post-merger integrations, and scale-ups in manufacturing and technology-enabled industrials. As a C-level executive and board advisor, he focuses on operational excellence, industrialisation, and P&L value creation. Over the past decade, he has delivered fast, measurable profitability improvements and led value-creation programmes across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

His background as a strategy consulting partner, private-equity managing director, and CEO in industrial businesses reflects a unique combination of analytical depth and hands-on execution. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Italian, Rafael also brings a strong international perspective to his leadership.

Carlo Matta, CEO of Nido Living, said:

“The new role of Chief Integration Officer will play a crucial role for us to meet our ambitious growth strategy. Rafael brings invaluable expertise, having worked across multiple sectors and geographies. As we target 25,000 beds by 2031, integrating our teams and harnessing value across the platform will be critical to our success.”

Rafael Fernández-Ladreda, Chief Integration Officer of Nido Living, said:

“I am excited to take on this new role at Nido Living and to support the integration of Livensa Living into the platform. Bringing together the strengths of both organisations will allow us to accelerate transformation, unlock synergies and create long-term value as we continue to grow across Europe."
